The Depew Middle School Student Council Holiday Food Drive collected over 1,000 canned goods and non-perishable food items. Each year beginning shortly before Thanksgiving, and running through the second week of December, the student council, in conjunction with the Eagles Club of Depew, Aerie 2692, collect non-perishable food items for deserving families within the Depew community. At the same time, the Eagles Club holds its own food drive to add to student council’s efforts. The members of the Eagles Club take the donations and make baskets of foods and gift cards for deserving families from DMS. The hope was to make the season a little brighter and allow these families the opportunity to have a healthy and happy holiday season with the food donations. Student council, along with Eagles Club liaison Ted Gorney, organize the effort each year. Additionally, The Eagles Club donated $250 to the student council thanking the school for its traditional annual collaboration on the holiday food drive.
