Get nine hours of sleep each night.  Be sure to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.  Keep screen time to two hours or less. Get up and be active for 60 minutes every day.  Put those sugary drinks down and drink water! These are all of the healthy habits the students at Cayuga Heights Elementary have been challenged to put into their lifestyle this year.  The physical education staff has once again teamed up with Independent Health for the “Fitness For Kids Challenge.”

Due to the hard work and commitment of the students to living healthier lives, Cayuga Heights was awarded a fun and interactive school assembly concert by local performer, Kevin McCarthy.  On April 15, 2019, Kevin rocked the gym with sounds, music, and special effects. The students were able to stand up, dance, and sing to popular pop music all while learning the importance of making healthy choices everyday.  In between songs, Kevin talked to the students about eating sun made food, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, and being active every day. The message was clear and there certainly was a buzz around the halls regarding this exciting event.  Way to go Cayuga!
