Susan Frey, assistant superintendent for Depew Schools, has been selected by the Western New York Educational Service Council (WNYESC) to receive its 2017 Award for Excellence in the category of Administration. She was nominated for this honor and chosen from a large number of outstanding nominees. She will be receiving an individual tribute in the presence of her family, friends, educational community colleagues and Depew family at the Awards for Excellence Banquet on Thursday, April 27 at the Millennium Hotel.
Mrs. Frey is a well deserving recipient of this honor, as she has been an administrator for over 20 years in various capacities. She currently oversees curriculum and instruction, personnel and health and physical education for the district. Each of her roles as assistant principal, high school principal and now assistant superintendent have contributed to her deep understanding for the educational changes in curriculum and instruction that truly impact academic achievement and prepare students to be “college and career ready”. Most important, she has demonstrated that she is skilled at supporting, facilitating and motivating teachers and administrators to work and collaborate together to accomplish a number of exciting initiatives in our district.
