Bottle cap collection for the DMS Library

The DMS Lilbrary is working on a STEAM recyclying project that uses plastic bottle caps.  Considering that we currently recover only 5% of the plastics we produce and the average American throws away approximately 185 pounds of plastic each year. This student based project will demonstrate that items that are commonly thrown away can be "upcycled" with a little creativity and planning.

Next year, Depew Middle will be using plastic bottle caps to create a mural in the DMS Library. It will take 1,000s of plastic bottle caps for the mural; all sizes and all colors from milk containers, water bottles, sports drinks, pop bottles, vitamin water, mayo jars, etc..

We are asking students tol start collecting plastic bottle caps and drop them off at the DMS Library.  Keep saving them over the summer too and drop them off the first day of school!
