On April 12, the 47th annual Freedom in America essay and poster contest finalists presented their work to a panel of judges. Essay finalists were eighth graders Madeline Doctor, Jessica Palmisano and Kiera Szuba, and seventh graders Krystal Wainwright and Sasa Nguyen. They each picked a topic to express what freedom means to them, using current world events to make their point.
The finalists in the poster portion of the contest are seventh graders Luisa Pyc, Stacee Bryan, Madison Wascak, Riley Whitehead, and Krystal Wainwright. Their work was displayed on stage, while all other Freedom in America poster submissions were displayed on the walls of the high school auditorium.
The judges, which included community members, school administrators and a previous student winner, deliberated and chose the winners - Jessica Palmisano and Stacee Bryan.
Congratulations to the winners and all the finalists for their hard work!
