Recently, University of Buffalo Medical School visited the fifth grade students at Cayuga Heights Elementary. Students were treated to a hands-on educational program about how to keep our heart healthy. UB students with one to two years of medical experience educated the students about heart disease and the benefits of exercise and healthy foods.
The students were able to use stethoscopes and view x-rays, while also working at a station where they learned about benefits of exercise and how it affects their pulse. Finally, students were able to view and touch a brain, a lung and a heart. Thank you to UB for treating us to such a fun, interactive and informational program.
