11/18/20 Letter to Parents on Orange Zone Designation

Good Afternoon Depew Families,

This message is from Dr. Rabey,

I regret to inform you that Depew Schools will shift to a fully remote learning environment for all students effective Monday, November 23, 2020.  While it brings great sadness for all of us, this move is required as a result of today’s announcement by Governor Cuomo and that the Depew School-Community has been designated as an Orange Zone under his Micro-Cluster Initiative.  We will assess our Zone Designation weekly, and keep the school-community informed regarding our return to in-person learning.

The building principals and teachers will be providing specific expectations to you and your children for this shift to fully remote instruction.  Please know that attendance in remote learning is of vital importance and will be taken and counted in grading. This remote learning environment will not be similar to the Spring remote learning expectations.

We understand the level of strain that this shift will place on many of our families.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher, counselor or administrator at any time that you feel you may need assistance in making this transition for your child.  We are here to support you.

Please visit our website at www.depewschools.org for a notification letter and revisit for regular updates.

Stay Safe
