Good Afternoon,

This is Dr. Rabey from Depew Schools with an important message:

First, I would like to inform you that after the Governor released Erie County from the Orange Zone restrictions, we no longer have to conduct our Covid-19 random testing plan. I would like to thank everyone who consented and/or participated in our plan.

Second, as we finish the first semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year and look toward the end of the school year, we would like to take this time to conduct another Thoughtexchange to reflect and consider any feasible adjustments, in order to ensure a successful experience with our modified school year.

We all know that this school year is like no other, as we have had to adjust our learning environments based on the New York State Health and Education Departments’ COVID-19 response regulations.

We all know that our students are not in the most optimal learning environments, as we need to abide by these regulations and ensure the health and safety of all of our constituencies.

We all know that we strive to be back to a normal way of life as soon as it is safe and feasible.

With all of these common understandings, it is important for us to collectively understand; What has been working well in your learning environment, and where would you need more support?

With that question in mind, we are asking you to join us in a new Thoughtexchange, which can be found on our website and in your email. Please share as many thoughts as possible, and we will use your responses to inform our planning and professional development to best support our students.

The Thoughtexchange will be open until Friday, February 5th at 5:00pm.

Thank you!
