Coding club is a free, after-school activity open to Cayuga Height Elementary students in grades 3, 4, and 5. This club allows students to have extra practice and exposure to coding that time does not allow in Technology Literacy class.
Coding helps students develop their problem solving, critical thinking, logical and computational thinking, and communication skills, as well as patience, teamwork, and friendly competition.
The students will meet to complete as many levels on the assigned coding activity that week. As students progress through the different challenges, students would earn points for each level completed.
Group 1: Grade 3 meets February 4, 11, 25, March 4, 11
Group 2: Grade 4 (and Top 5 students from Grade 3) meets March 18, 25, April 1, 8, 15
Group 3: Grade 5 (and Top 5 students from Grades 3-4) meets April 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3
Students are required to make the commitment to attend all sessions in their group, and have their own transportation provided.
Upon completing this registration form, if your child is selected to participate, they will receive a written permission slip with the information you provided that must be signed and returned to secure their place in the program.
Registration is limited to the first 25 students at each grade level.
