The candidates were inducted into the Erie 1 BOCES chapter of the NTHS on March 23, at Maryvale High School’s auditorium. Family and friends, career and technical education teachers and administrators, as well as administrators from area school districts all attended to show their support to the students.
The induction ceremony was followed by the presentation of student certificates and closed with the NTHS pledge of excellence. Over the course of the past several years, the number of students inducted into NTHS has increased, with this year being one of the most successful. In order to qualify for acceptance into NTHS, a student must be nominated by his or her teacher, have a 90 percent or higher average in their career and technical education course, and maintain an overall GPA of 85. Furthermore, students must demonstrate skill development, leadership, hone responsibility and good character.
