PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Mr. Lupini's Message August 2020

Dear DMS Families:

On behalf of the faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to extend a special welcome to all our returning students and families as well as those new to Depew Middle School. Hopefully, you are having an enjoyable and restful summer and are excited for the 2020-21 school year.

Please mark your calendar as our Open House will be held on September 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

We look forward to maintaining a solid partnership in educating your child, which is essential for students to be successful in a safe, orderly and nurturing environment. To create such an environment, we need to work together by:

Maintaining open communication by contacting your child’s teacher with academic concerns.

Monitoring assignments and grades in PowerSchool and Schoology.

Ensuring your child gets to school on time each day.

Reinforcing our school dress code.

Proactively monitoring social media and electronic communication.

The safety of your child is our first priority. Unfortunately as a result of tragedies that have impacted our nation’s school communities, we are consistently reviewing, revising and enhancing our safety and security practices and procedures with guidance from the Depew Police Department. Some areas that are going to be revised for the next school year are as follows:

All students in grades 6-12 must enter their respective buildings through the main entrance doors. The breezeway and back doors will be locked moving forward.

All families and visitors will have to scan their license to gain access to a building. Please ensure you have your license or you will not be permitted to enter any of our district buildings.

DMS students will not be allowed to carry backpacks or drawstrings during the course of the school day.

For more information, please visit depewschools.org or call the Main Office at 686-5051.

Sincerely,
James J. Lupini
Executive Principal
