The Depew Union Free School District is encouraging all district families to download the “My Local Safety” app.
This mobile application from the Depew Office of Emergency Management and Depew Police Department allows village officials to send push notifications to smart devices about emergency situations that will affect residents; like active incidents, road closures, or evacuations.
Depew UFSD also plans to participate, by using the app to push important real-time notifications. In using this app, families will be able to stay in communication with school officials in emergency situations.
Another feature of the app is the home safety plan. This allows residents to submit their family’s safety plan to help emergency personnel respond faster to a situation at home.
Simply download the app, then use Depew PD for the entity name, and 116916 for the entity code.
