On June 3rd, eighteen 4th graders competed in the annual Cayuga Heights Spelling Bee. All finalists were awarded a participation trophy for proudly representing the top spellers from their classrooms. The runner-up was Holden Kobielski from Mrs. Janiga and Mrs. Ball’s classroom. The first-place champion, Kendall Profic is a student from Mrs. Lorenc’s classroom. There were many rounds of correctly spelled words between the top two finishers, before Kendall correctly spelled the winning word “household” to secure first place.
