Freedom in America Assembly

Students at Depew Middle School showed their respect for values like patriotism and civic awareness as they took part in the 51st annual Freedom in America Essay and Poster Contest!

As part of the contest, students were tasked with writing and illustrating what freedom meant to them.

Congratulations to our essay winner, eighth grader Hameed Habibullah, and poster contest winner, seventh grader Rhaya Ortiz. The pair will receive a cash prize along with a commemorative plaque recognizing their achievement.

The contest winners were celebrated during an assembly for the entire school on Friday, May 16, which was also livestreamed on the district website. Great job by our winners and by all who participated in the contest!
