Served as board president 7/2011-7/2013, NYSSBA Board Mastery Award recipient, attended NYS Education Law and education conferences and numerous educational seminars, active in local advocacy movement to remove GAP elimination and reform equal funding formulas to state funding to school districts.

Reason for running: When I was appointed to the board, I made a commitment to serve the students, staff and community to the best of my ability, to maintain and preserve academic programming, to build opportunities for our students and at the same time present fiscally responsible budgets to our taxpayers (18 responsible budgets passed to date). Since that time as part of the board WE have; completed capital improvement projects that have addressed many long overlooked building, maintenance issues, gave us a major upgrade to our technology capabilities, added student programs, upgraded our sports complex that is second to none in our area and made state required mandated improvements all while keeping a reasonable debt service cost to the district.

Experience is the key to maintaining the progress of the board. Recent Superintendent search, Hiring of a new district leader will need to involve people with Experience to help maintain district progress and culture. I am looking for support to be elected to another term as a board trustee so that I can work to continue the progress that WE as a board have made to keep our district a financially sound, safe and educationally productive community asset.

I do not have all the answers, and I will not convince you that I do. I am committed to doing my best in building relationships and working collaboratively with everyone in our community. We can all work together to grow and build upon the already strong, healthy, and financially viable Depew Union Free School District.
