Barbara Albi, Depew's School Lunch Manager, tells The Buffalo News in a special column named At Your Service that she and her staff get students to do something unexpected: they get them to eat their vegetables. Albi estimates 70 percent of lunch buyers are eating their vegetables.

 Fevers: If your child is sent home from school or stays home with a fever, do not send them back to school the next day. Your child must be fever-free for 24 hours WITHOUT the assistance of fever-reducing medication such as Motrin (ibuprofen) or Tylenol (acetaminophen) before returning to school. Healthy Hygiene:
Wash your hands with soap and water. Bubble up your hands for about 20 seconds. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Throw the tissue in a covered trash bin.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose or mouth.
Use an alcohol wipe to clean phone receivers, steering wheels, door knobs and office equipment.
Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious foods. More Information
District Phones. All district phone numbers have been changed. The new numbers have been updated on our Staff Directory and are included in the district calendar. The new numbers all contain '5' as the first digit of the last four numbers. For instance, 686-5104 is the new number to reach the district office.
