Depew is proud to announce the essay finalists for the 50th annual Freedom In America Program.
Gabby Maggiore, Cameron Nowak, Candide Menavanza, Emily Keller and Aidan Leazott will read their essays before a panel of judges, their families and their classmates on Friday, May 10.
This annual event, known as the Depew Middle School Freedom In America Essay and Poster Contest, is the only one of its kind in the Western New York area.
The four eighth graders and one seventh grader were chosen from all the essays submitted in the preliminary round.
During the assembly, winners of both the poster and essay contest will be announced. The event will be broadcast on the district’s YouTube channel for any family members who are unable to attend.
The essay writers and artists who submitted entries for the contest are proof of the excellent academic programs at Depew, as well as evidence of the fine young Americans who will someday soon take their place in our society.
