On June 6th, eighteen fourth graders competed in the annual Cayuga Heights Spelling Bee. We were excited to hold this bee in our own auditorium! The ceremony opened honoring all contestants with a presentation of finalist participation medals. It took 20 rounds to congratulate the eventual runner-up, Hazel Ruffino from Mrs. Jaskinski’s class, and 2025 champion Ella Coleman from Mrs. Janiga and Mrs. Ball’s classroom. Ella correctly spelled the word “cascade” to be declared champion. All students proudly represented their classrooms and showcased superior spelling abilities in this friendly competition.
