This past Saturday, approximately 30 of our marching band and color guard students had the incredible opportunity to participate in UB Band Day with the University at Buffalo's Thunder of the East Marching Band during their football game against Western Michigan University.
Students enjoyed lunch on campus, got a behind-the-scenes look at the band's warm-up routine, and stayed alongside UB musicians both in the stands and on the field throughout the game. With beautiful weather and an electric game-day atmosphere, it was truly an unforgettable experience!
One especially inspiring takeaway for our students: of the 150+ members of the UB Marching Band, only three are music majors. The vast majority are pursuing degrees in other fields while continuing to perform and share their passion for music. It's a wonderful reminder that music can remain an important and rewarding part of life long after high school.
