We are so excited to welcome back our students tomorrow! As we begin the 25-26 school year, please remember that all personal, electronic-enabled devices must be away for the school day in accordance with the law and policy. Please visit our District website for additional information regarding the expectations.
Please make note of the following points regarding the ThinkTech Connect app for the Middle School and High School. This app will allow you to message your child during the school day on their Chromebook
1. Your registration link for THiNKtech, will only be sent to the email that you have on file with the district. Be sure you are checking the proper inbox. If you do not receive an email, please confirm with the school district that you have an email on file.
2. The registration link is individually linked to the email address that is on file. Each user has a unique link. You cannot forward the link to another individual with the expectation that they will be able to register. For example, Mom can not forward the link to Dad's email. The email that is sent to the parent or guardian will only work for the parent or guardian who receives the email.
Thank you for helping to make this year a success.

The Depew Summer 2025 Newsletter is here! While the print version is on its way to your mailbox, you can read the digital version now.
Attached is the August Regents Exam Schedule and Review Classes. Review classes are optional and bussing is NOT provided. August Regents are for Retakes ONLY.
Any Depew student wishing to retake a Regents exam that has not already contacted the guidance department needs to email the Assistant Principal, Lynn Girdlestone at Lgirdlestone@depewschools.org to enroll.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, families are reminded to complete a new Superintendent Bus Note Form for each student who may be dropped off without a parent or guardian present at the bus stop.
This form grants permission for the bus driver to release your child at their stop without a parent or guardian visible and must be filled out at the beginning of every school year.
The updated form for the 2025-2026 school year is now available on the Transportation page under “Forms.”

As a result of the recent Board of Education elections held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, three incumbents won three-year terms; Bartholomew McGloin (239), Patrick Law (239) and John Spencer (232). The fourth open Board seat was left to a write-in decision, however the top write-in candidate vote getter, Matthew Richards, withdrew/declined his election to the Board on Friday, May 23, 2025. The fourth Board seat became vacant by operation of law and does not automatically go to the next highest write in candidate vote getter.
The Board of Education may appoint an individual to serve in a vacant position. The Board plans to vote on the appointment of the second highest write-in candidate, Kerisha Hawthorne-Greer, to the vacant seat at its next meeting on June 17, 2025. Ms. Hawthorne-Greer has indicated her willingness to serve and the term for the vacant seat continues until the next election on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
We want to make families aware of a concerning trend circulating on social media, particularly TikTok. The "#ChromebookChallenge" encourages students to intentionally damage their school-issued Chromebooks by inserting metal objects into the charging port or tampering with the battery. This behavior is not only extremely dangerous, it can cause devices to short circuit or even catch fire, but it also results in serious consequences.
Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of responsible technology use and the dangers of participating in such online challenges. Any student found intentionally damaging school property may face disciplinary action, including suspension and/or being held financially responsible for the cost of repairs or replacement. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us keep our school community safe.
